Over 20,000 Expected to attend the 2018 National Career Expo

On the 9th  of March 2018, Dereja, a business unit of Info Mind Solutions PLC (EthioJobs.net) and the Ministry of Education announced that they will be partnering to host the 2018 Annual Career Expo – the largest nation-wide recruitment and internship platform. The Expo has been confirmed for 10 – 11 August and will take place at the Millennium Hall, Addis Ababa. The Expo will attract over 20,000 fresh graduates from all over the country and over 250 public and private institutions.

Dereja.com and the Ministry of Education are happy to announce that Heineken and Midroc Group are confirmed as Platinum Sponsors and M-Birr is confirmed as a Diamond sponsor for the Expo. These organizations are dedicated to supporting youth career development through hiring fresh graduates and also providing management trainee programs to ensure productive career paths for employees.

 Dr. Samuel Kifle, State Minister, Ministry of Education stated “the Ministry is dedicated to meet its target of ensuring 80% of fresh graduates secure employment within one year of graduation. The National Career Expo is central to this mission and the Ministry is proud to be supporting this landmark event.”

According to Siham Ayele, Project Manager of Dereja.com,  “114 companies have confirmed to participate in the Expo so far with a combined number of 1,000 open vacancies.” These companies will have a dedicated booth during the 2-day conference where they will be able to meet with potential employees face-to-face. Siham continues to say, “this unique opportunity will allow employers to pre-screen candidates for open positions within their organization and also promote their future recruitment needs to a wider talent pool.”

 

The National Career Expo will foster open dialogues between job-seekers and employers through various platforms such as a national job fair, HR seminar and interactive workshops.
