The reason for its name is because it must be brief and to the point. If you can master this skill, it can allow you to introduce yourself to different career connections in a creative and compelling way. Basically, it’s a speech about you, who you are what you can do and what you want to do.
If you’ve ever been in an interview room then you’ve probably practiced your elevator pitch, especially when an potential employer asks you about yourself. However, there are a couple things you should know when constructing your elevator pitch.

It’s important to know this because as you yourself evolve so will your elevator pitch. Nothing is written in stones. It isn’t something you come up with once, as you practice it, it will change and that shouldn’t worry you. This skill is an underrated one, it is invaluable when it comes to pitching your new ideas and solutions to your potential supervisor.

Whether you know it or not, you do have one elevator pitch. Any time someone asks you about what you want to do or what you do you answer is where you should start. Don’t look to others but rather within yourself. The more you look within the more you sound like yourself. Employers want to know about an ideal you not someone else’s idea of you. So make sure that your elevator pitch reflects your true self at its best.

It’s hard to fit in your entire story in one minute but this doesn’t mean you should tell everything about yourself rather, always try to convey what’s important and as things progress it’ll be harder and harder to fit everything so always make sure to communicate what’s important. It should be short and easy to understand.
